Together we will Give Clean Water & Expand the Maasai Education Center in Kenya!

In April 2025, 14 high school students from San Diego will set out on a life-changing journey to Amboseli, Kenya to provide humanitarian support and engage in a cultural exchange at the Maasai Education Center. These dedicated high school students, some returning for their third consecutive year to make a difference, have built lasting friendships with the Maasai students and are making a global impact!

Join us in supporting young leaders to take action and make a difference with the Maasai!

MCV is seeking your generous support to invest in our future leaders and uplift lives! This year, students will continue to work alongside the Maasai to develop sustainable solutions to the water crisis, ensuring clean water access for families and expanding programs at the Maasai Education Center.

All students have fully funded their trips—now we simply need your support for humanitarian supplies. Your donation will go directly toward providing clean water resources and essential materials to build and expand the education center, creating a lasting impact for the Maasai community.

Student-Led Impact Over the Last Two Years

In just two years, our student-led initiatives have made a real difference in the Maasai community:

2023: Students established the Maasai Education Center, the first-ever cultural and learning hub in the region. The center was launched with a classroom, computers, electricity, Wi-Fi, and educational resources, providing Maasai youth and community members with access to technology and modern learning tools. We also planted a Maasai medicinal garden.  This initiative is bridging students in California and Kenya, fostering an exchange of environmental knowledge and ideas through technology, and empowering the Maasai Indigenous communities to share Traditional Ecological Knowledge on environmental conservation and sustainability.

2024: MCV drilled a deep water well at the Center and launched the ENKARƎ Water Bottling Initiative, a women-led clean water project that is saving lives, creating jobs for Maasai women, and providing sustainable clean water access to local families. Students also build 3 Manyattas—traditional Maasai structures—serving as classrooms, cultural hubs, and marketplaces, while also hosting volunteers and teaching Indigenous building techniques.

What’s Next for 2025: Help MCV Raise $30,000 to Expand Our Programs at the Maasai Education Center!

Expanding Clean Water Access – $15,000

With your support, MCV will bring clean water to more villages by installing new pipelines and fixing those damaged by elephants. Many communities remain on our waiting list, and with your support, we can ensure more families have access to safe, clean water.

Constructing Housing & Classrooms – $7,000

To enhance education and cultural preservation, we will construct additional Manyattas, traditional Maasai structures that will serve as classrooms, cultural hubs, and marketplaces for Maasai women artisans. These spaces will also accommodate visiting volunteers and students, fostering deeper engagement and sustainable development while preserving Indigenous building techniques.

Building a Maasai Café – $6,000

We will construct the Maasai Heritage Café and serve authentic Maasai food to visitors. The income generated long-term from the Cafe will help cover the costs of providing free meals to 70 orphans, as well as local community members and students at the Maasai Education Center. This café will not only provide food security but also create a sustainable income stream for managing the Center.

Empowering More Maasai Women Through Entrepreneurship – $2,000

With your support we can expand our entrepreneurship training to more Maasai women. This training will equip them with the skills to manage and grow the ENKARƎ Water Bottling Initiative and other women-led businesses such as the marketplace for beadwork and café management. By supporting these initiatives, we will create new economic opportunities for Maasai women and their families, and ensure sustainability for the Maasai Education Center.

With your support, high school students will work hand-in-hand with the Maasai community, building lasting friendships while expanding access to clean water, enhancing educational opportunities, uplifting Maasai women, and safeguarding the Indigenous heritage of the Maasai people. Every donation brings us closer to our $30,000 goal to create a lasting impact for the Maasai Education Center. Join us in making a difference today!
