MCV hosted a side session on how education and digital technology are empowering girls in Kenya and Afghanistan. This session featured youth leaders who are actively working to create sustainable change through education, mentorship, and digital learning tools. We shared how to use education to break the cycle of poverty, promote gender equality, and bridge the digital divide.
My Chosen Vessels (MCV) was honored to host and partner with Flowers for the Future (FFF) for this important side event at the 2025 ECOSOC Youth Forum. This event offered a unique opportunity to hear from student panelists who are directly involved in peer-led education and mentorship. Their stories of how education is breaking barriers, creating sustainable communities, and fostering economic growth inspired all attendees to see how youth-led initiatives can make a lasting impact and create positive change worldwide. MCV has been dedicated to improving the lives of the Maasai Indigenous community through water access, education, and cultural preservation.
Key Objectives:
- SDG 3 – Health & Well-being: Discuss how educating girls contributes to improved health and well-being for all generations, especially in marginalized communities.
- SDG 5 – Gender Equality: Share stories of overcoming gender barriers and creating leadership opportunities for girls in Kenya and Afghanistan through education and mentorship.
- SDG 4 – Quality Education: Explore how digital tools and culturally sensitive, trauma-informed learning are expanding educational access for marginalized youth.
- SDG 8 – Economic Growth & Employment: Learn how education is creating employment pathways and addressing economic inequalities in communities.
