MCV Clean Water Success Report
MCV celebrated World Water Day in Amboseli, Kenya on March 22, 2018, by providing 3,000 Maasai people in Irkaswaa village with clean water. It brought joy to our hearts to hear the excitement, songs, and prayers echoing throughout the village on the day the water well was finally completed. Many of the community members expressed that this was the first time they have seen fresh water flowing from the ground.
Our team successfully installed three water distribution points, including a pipeline to an elementary school providing clean water to 700 students. In the coming months, we expect to see more girls enrolled in school because they can collect clean water for their families simply by attending school.

MCV Emergency Drought Relief
The school principal and teachers were so excited to have clean water, that within weeks they started growing a small-scale garden to provide food for their students and the community. Water access and adequate nutrition is the key to improving Maasai students academic performance and giving them an opportunity for a bright future.
What’s Next?: Phase Two Distribution System
We still have a long way to go and need your support for the next distribution phase to ensure every Maasai person has access to clean water. Our next step is to install phase two of this water project by constructing a 50,000-gallon water storage tank and two more water distribution pipelines to ensure clean water is easily accessible to every family in Irkaswaa village.
